WINE TOURISM IN LA CONCA DE BARBERA
The Cistercian Route (Ruta del Cister) constitutes an important cultural tourism offer in Catalonia, specifically in the counties of Alt Camp and Conca de Barberà, in Tarragona; and in Urgell, in Lleida. Each of these counties holds a Cistercian monastery, which is the centre of its artistic/cultural heritage and the 3 of them give name to the route. These monasteries, founded in the 12th century, were official pantheons for the kings and queens of the Catalan-Aragonese Crown for more than 300 years.
